Cab Center Console and Captain's Chairs

Post by Cherstream »

I have a 1992 B190 and my center console in the cab is terribly broken. The Ford dealer says they no longer make anything like this. Does anyone have an idea where I could find a part to replace the center console that covers the engine. It would be nice if it had all the features (cup holder, storage space, change holder) of the original, but I can live with it if it doesn't, as there is just no way for the current one to look nice.

The Captain's chairs also need replacing, so I would also appreciate any hints on this. Is there a specific make or model that works for replacing these that I should be on the lookout for?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

For the center console, junkyard perhaps?

I think the captain's chairs are pretty standard RV captain's chairs; I know Flexsteel made some of them.

Here are some on ebay: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_fro ... le&_sacat=

Not your year, but I would start by finding out what years will fit. Local wrecking yard might have an interchange manual. Then, keep checking ebay and other web sites till you find one. Or, some wrecking yards are tied in nationally and may be able to locate one.

Good luck

Thanks guys. I will start the search for the console. Even though it's not the right year, eBay was encouraging. According to the guy at my RV repair shop, the chairs are going to be a problem and have to be found used. But it does seem like any standard chair would fit. Has anyone replaced their captain's chairs?

Are your chairs in mechanically good condition? If so, I'd just get them reupholstered instead of replacing them. Almost certainly cheaper, and guaranteed to fit.

Cab Center Console and Captain's Chairs

Post by RCR »

If I'm not mistaken, 92-96 models are the same so that may increase your chances of finding a doghouse cover. I found one at the local junkyard that was in perfect condition just a couple of months ago. I ended up giving my "pretty good" older one away.

For the console attachment, like others have posted - eBay is the ticket.
