Keyless entry E350

Post by jvanoyen »

I recently purchased a 1993 AS B190 and want to find/buy the Ford remote for it. Looking on ebay and other web sites, there seems to be a difference between the E350 Econoline van and the E350 Club van. Which one did AS use to build these B190's. Where do you suggest I look to find the correct one. Did any on this site have success programming these remotes themselves rather than taking it to a Ford dealer? Thanks for the help you all. Jerry

First thing you need to know is whether or not your 1993 was equipped with keyless entry. The module is very hard to access, as it is behind the wall behind the sofa. I took mine to a Ford dealer and they claimed it did not come with that option. I'm not so sure, but have not bothered taking it to another dealer. I did not realize there was more than one fob available. I found one on ebay, I believe witha buy it now, but have never bothered ordering to see if I could get it to work. It would be convienient, that's for sure. One possible test to see if yours may have come with remote is: do the interior lights come on if you pull on the exterior door handle without opening the door. As I recall looking at the wiring diagram(about a year ago) there are switches on the door handles to turn on the interior lights that seem to be a part of the remote lock option.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.
