I'm flying from CA to GA to pick up a 1991 van Dec 4th. While trying to set up some work to be done on van before driving it back to CA, I was quoted a price of $125 for an oil change. What a shock! Here in Hi-price CA, I pay $43 for oil change on my 30' Airstream MH which includes oil and filter. The shop in GA said that their hourly charge was $119. Where do you guys back East go to have an oil change? Also have to buy new tires. I'm never going to complain about costs in CA again )

Oil change at jiffy lube or fast change station should cost you about $40 to $50. You'll just need to find one with a truck bay because of the height of the van. The engine is just a E350 ford engine nothing special.URS.

Yeah, it's a standard job. If I remember correctly, my 460 used the traditional FL-1A Ford filter and 6 quarts of oil.

Thanks for reply. I always hate to go to fast lube places because they always seem to try to sell you so much other stuff and I don't know the maintenance history
of this unit but that is what I will be looking for. I wish I could take my dear mechanic with me....

When you get there, take it too Walmart. If they can't change it, buy a drain pan and 5 at jug of your favorite oil, filter and you should be good to go in the parking lot. May have to borrow a drain plug wrench from their mechanic.

Standard 6 qts. of oil. Filter is a PH8A (or something 8A). With the clearance on the van you can do it without even jacking it up.

Thanks for comments. I know I should do my own oil changes but as a 77 yo grandmother, I don't think I will be starting now.
