The driver circuit of our fluorescent ceiling fixture finally died. Rather than repair it, I decided to update the factory fluorescent light fixture for an equivalent LED model.

I installed the Thin-Lite model LED626P. The LED626P is virtually the same size and configuration of the Airstream factory fluorescent light.

The replacement is very easy…
1. Remove the lens of the light by squeezing the sides of the lens and pop it loose from the housing.
2. Unscrew four Phillips head screws that hold the old fixture to the ceiling panel.
3. Carefully, shift the wires that come through the hole in the ceiling until you can see the twist on wire caps. Grip the wire cap with a pair of needle nose pliers and carefully pull the wire cap and attached wires through the hole. Do this for both the positive and ground wires.
4. Remove the wire caps from the wires of the old light fixture.
5. Install the new light fixture by doing the reverse of the above steps.

Comparison of the old and new lights :

The new light gets a thumbs up from us. More light, less power draw and dimmable. It’s a winner.

I like the idea of a dimmer. The fluorescent gets a little bright. Thanks for the instructions. This will move to the top of my upgrade list

Thanks, out of stock until mid-June. The price is good enough to wait for.

If you like to tinker I used the original oak trimmed overhead light with ten led panels they just stick on and no I didn't use red they also come in white. The remote just wires in the light power and has ten stage dimmer and strobe if you fell like dancing lol. About $20

Lol one thing I like you can velcro the remote anywhere you want.
I probably used more than necessary but the wife will never say I can't see the light isn't bright enough.

Update...

We just finished one four day trip and a one week trip. The light is great!. On normal setting its about the same as the factory fluorescent light fixture. Several times we used the bright setting for a few short task and the amount of light was perfect. And we found the dimmer function a welcome addition while relaxing inside before bedtime.

Thumbs up on this light.

Thanks again for this tip! The install went great. You do have to be careful when pulling the wires out of the hole - you don't want the wire nut to separate when it is still tucked into the ceiling. The dimmer is a 2 position switch. Click once for low light setting click again for high light setting. I was a bit bothered by being able to see the LED elements through the plastic dome cover but I quickly got over it.

The holes for installing did not quite line up with the old holes but were super easy to screw into the ceiling. The light is nice and bright and the lower profile looks awesome. I have replaced all interior lights with LEDs, as well as the porch light and brake lights. I'm still looking to beef up my reversing lights so my review camera could hopefully provide a better image at night.
