B190 Enthusiasts

Been thinking about changing out the little reading lights to Led's like many have done, what are people finding as the best band for the buck and best looking and still cover the foot print of the ones removed ?
And I find a few of the other lights w/the plastic cover have holes over the bulbs, to hot a bulb ?, and best ones to replace them? Thanks

I just installed 3 of these (2 in the bunk and one in the restroom). They were very easy to install. Kill the 12v power, unscrew the old ones, wire them up and screw them in. Took about 20 mins to install all three. The original lights had burned holes in the covers and were a fire hazard due to the amount of heat they put off. The LED's look great and consume much less power. Good luck!

Thanks, a couple of mine have the same burn holes, I don't see where you have the 2 little swivel lights up their like I have, yours must be newer, mines a '90, nice look.

Mine is a 1990. Any light connected to 12v should be easily replaced with a similar styled LED.

We put those exact same lights in our trailer, or at least we're working on it. I replaced the bathroom light already; there's one above the fridge and one in the bedroom yet to do. The one in the bathroom works pretty well.

So Skater, I have the other style, metal ones that swivel, reading lights, a couple in the cab, a couple in the bunk, along w/the kinda square ones in the bunk and bathroom. If you have the swivel "reading lamps", what did you replace them with ? Thanks

Our trailer doesn't have them, but the B190 did. We never replaced them - at the time, LEDs were either too expensive, or I was concerned they wouldn't fit in the socket. If I had one now, it'd be one of the first things I did to it, though.

In theory, a replacement LED for the stock size (was it #193?) should fit in there. Or, you could easily replace the entire fixture, and there are a lot of options. I ordered most of the LEDs for our trailer from this place, but there are plenty of other options. It's all in what you want.

Those square lights are likely the same ones that Airstream used in our 1993. When we bought our B, the lens of several of the lights had holes melted in them. I was able to find inexpensive replacement lenses online... sorry don't remember where now. We then replaced the incandescent bulbs with their LED equivalents. The LEDs run cooler and also consume far less power. They have worked out well for last four years. The newer LED fixtures that have been posted on the forum seem to be popular as well.

Replaced interior bulbs with "soft light" bulbs and there's not much difference in brightness. Will try "daylight" option next time...

Coming to this late but wanted to add a more modern light fixture option. It's a game changer. Swapping out LED bulbs in the extant fixtures gave very poor lighting. Changing out each of the fixtures with LED panel lights was easy and the lighting in the van is amazing. Not too expensive and generally a cinch to install minus any weirdness in wire length when it was built by Airstream. A few were VERY short and that made it a little challenging. But not much.
