Does anyone have experience installing a water filter under the sink?
I want a filter that will take our any bacteria as well as improve the taste and odor.
I only have catalogs to look at...and it is very confusing.

I think it's actually pretty straightforward. If you have the gray plastic tubing in the camper, you will need either QEST-brand fittings or a crimper and the metal rings to re-crimp the plastic pipe.

From there it's just a matter of figuring out what size male fittings screw into the filter on each side. Don't forget the Teflon tape.

If you use the city water connection, there's an easier way: just buy a filter and attach it to the inlet - you'll probably need a short piece of hose to go from the filter to the inlet, and some adapters to go from hose connections to whatever the water filter uses. I see people with this setup all the time.

In either case, the folks at your local plumbing supply/Lowes/Home Depot place should be able to help you get it rigged up.

It is not so much the installation of a filter, it is the products to choose form that are confusing.

I think we need to find a RV parts dealer to see it all in person.

You live in a large metropolitan area and can find everything...

We are in the capital of SC but it is limited... a great city for getting around, great weather, recreation...but not great at finding products.
We rely on mail order for many things.

Ah, sorry. You're right - there are 20+ options on Camping World's site (here). I've never looked at that before. Of course some of those are replacement filters and the like, not entire kits, but there are probably 12-14 different options.
