Restoring or rebuilding interior questions

Post by nessab190 »

Hello,

I was wondering how to best install furring strips to the roof, walls etc

I'm planning on getting the t nuts for the walls and trying to glue stuff to the ceiling.

My main concern is that there is a white coating on the interior of the van which looks like it was applied when it was built. Can I glue to this coating or do I need to remove it entirely? Thanks!

Hi There, I recently redid my interior post total gutjob...I glued strips of plywood to ceiling with construction glue ......used a combination of duct tape and 2x1 firing strips to hold them in place while glue set up...reason for using plywood strips is the They didn’t split when screwed into as regular firing strips seemed to do...any more questions just drop Aline
Have fun

Thanks for the info. I found this awesome sealant adhesive and after testing it on some other parts, used it to glue wood to the top where furring strips weren't already installed. For the walls I used rivnuts and metal screws. Foam board and great stuff is in and I just need to decide what I want on the walls for paneling 😊
