B190 Enthusiasts

I've tried searching but do not specifically see what I am looking for. While the build data and history seems fairly complete regarding the units built in Jackson Center, Ohio. My questions refer to the very first built by Okanogan. From what I have found, it does not appear these early units were given Airstream serial numbers? Or even given credibility in the overall counts? It seems the '89's built in Ohio have the one full overhead bunk window? Possibly the below units are 1988? Mine was built in June 1988.

I understand I am in a minority as most have later model units. However, I find the history interesting. This document supports my belief that 1. The B190 actually started in late 1988 and 2. The units built in the Canadian Plant were not given the sequential serial numbers.

And yes, I do have an ulterior motive; we are looking at selling ours this fall so I need to obtain all the information I can.

My guess: I think they technically do have serial numbers, but they weren't applied to the van anywhere. So the first one coming out of Jackson Center might have been #7 or whatever.

Only way I know of to find out would be to raid the files at Jackson Center, or get someone to do so. They had an historian on staff for a while getting the museum up and running, but I don't know if anyone replaced her.

What is that document? It looks like AI. If it is, be careful about trusting any of its conclusions. AI is great at hallucinating things and telling people what they want to hear - I just saw a story this morning from a guy who thought he had a very high sequential number 1967 Shelby Mustang and it was worth a lot more than usual because of it. Complete hallucination.

I don't think there is a premium for early builds or late builds or anything like that.

The document is nothing more than another avenue to search. Nothing to trust, or distrust. The 'search' has to start, and go, somewhere. Plenty of dead ends out there but worth the travel to me. The document was enough for you to mention Airstream Heritage Center which gave me another rabbit hole to enter...

I will be interested in the results of your search, as my unit is in the same, Airstream name but no serial number apparent. In replacing something recently, I was told that my 89 B160 was actually on a late 88 chassis. Perhaps this is an indication of being very early in the series.

Do you have the split overhead bunk windows or one solid one?
