I replaced mine a couple years ago (though I used a different brand). See the "Articles" section of the site for a writeup I did about it. Totally worth every penny. It's nice not having the converter frying your battery all the time (leave it plugged in and have the battery charged but not overcharged - I do this all the time). Just curious to know if this is a viable option.
Seems simple enough and inexpensive(well almost)
