The roof. Paint
I pulled the trigger on Monstaliner for the roof of the rig. I have used this product on the roof of my work rig to fix a leak caused by some electric ladder racks and I am really happy with the results.
Air2D2 has flaking paint on the top and it's visible on the front of the rig and really diminishes the overall appearance, which is otherwise excellent IMHO. Turns out the top was re-painted at some point. I suspect it was done by the dealer that took it on trade several years back so they could re sell it at a premium - looks like the paint on the tops has broken down on most of em. The bedliner will address a few issues I will outline with photos as I progress. Here are some pix of the rig in her current state and the work rig with liner on the roof.

Re: The roof. Paint
It definitely looks like a repaint done poorly. Originally the top was jell coated mine still is on my 93. Im thinking about doing the same just for a little insurance of no leeks its parked under the carport but we do camp year round so it would be a good investment to prevent problems in the future. Let us know how it goes and what products you use.

Something I would also follow along w/new seals and installation of them around my windows.

Conklin makes a roll on rubber membrane roof that I used years ago on a travel trailer with success. The main thing is prep.

Got the Monstaliner chips today and toner for some of the colors - I have a gallon of tintable base leftover from the sprinter roof. I'm going to do the stripe around the middle while I'm up there.BuddyR wrote:Conklin makes a roll on rubber membrane roof that I used years ago on a travel trailer with success. The light grey is going to go around the edge of the top (of the top) and down the front. The roof itself, I will do in white - keeps summer temps down.

Those snaps around the driver side window - near the paint chips - are they for a bug screen or some other window coverings?

Yup. Skater nailed it. The cover was in bad shape. I think this rig was pointed nose-to-the-sun. The windshield cover prolly helped a lot. But it couldn't save the roof paint.skater wrote:Window covers like this.usachris wrote:Those snaps around the driver side window - near the paint chips - are they for a bug screen or some other window coverings?
