120 volt outlets on couch side of the B190
Just like in a house, you can never have enough power outlets!
I have been concerned about using 120 volt items on the couch side of the vehicle when all of the outlets are on the kitchen counter side of the camper. I just don’t like the clutter and trip risk of power cords in the aisle way. So today, I did something about it.
Here is the new outlet on the side of the couch cabinet behind the driver’s seat. Here is the new outlet on the side of the couch cabinet below the range top.

And just to make everything match, I changed out the factory outlet by the side entrance using the same hardware.

Re: 120 volt outlets on couch side of the B190
This is a fairly straightforward job. I used standard 12/2 w/ground household wire, outlets and trim plates from our local Home Depot. I wired the new outlets to the same breaker that the two Airstream factory outlets are connected to.
One tip, I used this outlet box from Home Depot. These have a shallow depth which is helpful in order to provide clearance to the side of the drawer under the couch and to clear the water tank that is inside the kitchen counter. I found that the shallow outlet box in the kitchen cabinet still interfered with the bottom drawer and also contacted the side of the water tank. So I used a heat gun and collapsed the back side of the outlet box slightly until it had adequate clearance.
I'm pleased with how it came out... practical and looks sharp.

Great job! Good idea to keep the look consistent.

This would be cool with those outlets that also have USB ports in them, but I'm not sure if those will fit in the shallow box (they run fairly deep). We installed one to replace a bad outlet in our house and it's pretty handy.
Or, installing separate USB ports or a 12 volt socket as an additional thing.

+1 on this. I installed a Blue Sea 4.8 amp port to replace one of the 12v outlets on my dash. Charges SUPER fast. I would highly recommend.skater wrote:...Or, installing separate USB ports or a 12 volt socket as an additional thing.

I think I will call my local electrician and get him to do this in the campervan. Love this improvement and do not want to trip over cords either.

Do want! Something like those would be great for each end of the couch.190-b-651 wrote:I replaced the tv power injector on the back wall with this one works great my only complaint is that the led stays on
Amazon link to the white one. There's also a black one. There are also ones that are four USB ports instead of two USB + 12 volt charger.

Re: 120 volt outlets on couch side of the B190
I've got my inverter on the end of the couch behind the driver seat bought a heavy duty 12volt plug 15A to run my c-pap machine on the other end by the stove. It only pulls 4-5 A but In case I need to quick my jump pack or something.
I learned alot about the converters lately I replaced the original with a best converter its a three stage and will prolong your deep cycle battery life. Simple swap out and a new 12volt connection board comes with it. Good investment.
