My in-laws came to visit from Colombia and wanted to see Las Vegas so I loaded up the van and we went for a little tour of the Southwest. The van truly amazes me, it ran flawlessly once again and all of the equipment did too. (the fridge was the only let down, it had a hard time in the desert heat, 12v is a joke and the propane wasn't much better, but it did cool off nicely in Flagstaff) We averaged 12mpg at 60-65 mph for the whole trip ( I kept record at each fill up and did the math each time so as to not get unjustifiable numbers) I was pretty pleased with this, the mileage may have been a bit better but the stop and go driving we did around Vegas for 2 days really hurt, 6mpg OUCH!!!!! When running 65-70 the mileage avg to 9.6

It really was, a bit more time would have been awesome. I convinced the wife after having her drive a small stint that the 4wd conversion is a worthy endeavor and that keeping the beast is now a priority and finding storage and cushion for my new business will have to come from somewhere else

Well, there you go! All sorts of intriguing possibilities on the 4x4 front. Boulder OffRoad in Lafayette, CO (where I and others have had it done) and the guys at UJOINT in North Carolina (who seem to be doing some really interesting work and have a photo of a B190 4x4 on their website), and... Oh, the obsession it becomes... Just remember, we will never recoup what we spend on the conversion when and if we ever sell...perish the thought!

If you don't mind, how much was the conversion through Boulder Offroad? (PM me if you would like)I have a quote from Ramesy at Agile Offroad in San Diego for $11 to 12k not including wheels and tires) UJOINT is upwards of $17k w/o wheels/tires. Plus I would like to add the Aluminess F/R bumpers another $2500-3k It is a lot to spend but it opens up so many opportunities!!!
